Herpa Wings Cathay Pacific A330-300
Cathay Pacific Herpa Wings models were a bit expensive at the dealers, because the only place you could get them new was on board their flights. I gave my friend some money to pick this one up for me when he made a trip to Hong Kong, unlike most Herpa Wings models this has a registration number on it (rego: B-HLA). This registration number is a Chinese one, after the change over of Hong Kong from Britain to China. Models with the British rego VR-HLA are worth more because they are rarer. The real B-HLA plane is now being operated by Dragonair a regional subsidiary airline of Cathay Pacific and is now painted with Dragonair livery.
I sold this plane before moving to Japan. I kind of now wish I hadn't, at that time I'd only taken two flights on Cathay. Since moving to Japan I've flown on Cathay a lot and mostly on A330-300s. I also had another Herpa Wings Cathay Pacific model in my collection that was very rare, the B747-200 "Spirit of Hong Kong", unfortunately I didn't photo that one before I sold it.
