DigitalGrin > James Clarke (jamri)  > Books > Through the Year
A photo book that I'm currently working on, showing scenes from the Kansai region in Japan through the year. The photos were taken over a period of about three years. There are 4 photos for each month, making a total of 48 photos. Will keep you posted on the progress of the book. Note the watermark will not appear in the book or on prints, gifts or digital stock purchased.

January - Daffodil Shoots coming up through the snow.
The early part of January can bring us some of the coldest weather we get here and while the minimums might get low all the way through to April. In January sometimes it can go for more than a week without even the temperature getting over 5C maximum!
This time although being our driest month here, there is a chance of a few days that we might get some snow accumulation.
January - Snow Topped Azalea Bushes.
January - Camellias after a snowfall.
January - Winter Rice Field.
Being the coldest and driest month means that most of the grass in the fields dries out. In this photo dry rice grass catches the golden light prior to sunset.

February - Bonsai Ume (plum) Blossom.
In the second half of February as the maximum temperatures start to rise to just above 10C and spring rains start to fall, comes blooming of Ume (plum blossoms).
February - Plum (Ume) Blossom outside Osaka Castle.
February - Mejiro in a Ume (plum) tree.
February - Cycling by the Ume (Plum) Blossoms.
Note the other trees which are still bare are the Sakura which don't bloom until about 6 weeks later.
March - Momo (Peach) Blossom.
While the month of March is cold enough occasionally have snow falls, on average the weather starts warm just a little from winter bringing many flowers out including these peach blossoms.
